Covenant & Government #11

Our focus this week for repentance of breaking covenant with the Lord in the area of government comes from Scriptures that pertain to nations. In the Old Testament, the Lord refers many times to the sins of Israel as a nation. Jeremiah 5:21-29 speaks of national sins that result in bringing on the vengeance of the Lord. The Lord held Israel accountable for these sins. How much more will He hold us accountable when we entered into a covenant with Him at the founding of our nation? Please join together in repenting of these sins and replacing them with goodness in order that we may practice and pursue righteousness (1 John 3:7; 1 Tim 6:11).

Prayers for Israel

For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you [Jerusalem] shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined. Isaiah 60:12

Please pray for our Nation’s involvement and support for Israel.

Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up the nation of Israel and all the Jewish people to You now to bless them. Please help them to continually have the fear of the Lord in order to grow in wisdom. May they also have the fear of the Lord in order to have You show them deeper aspects of living in covenant relationship with You. May Your people expand in their knowledge of You, the Holy One, for this is understanding. I bless Israel and all Jews to have faith to step beyond the border of the sea that lies ahead of them at this point in time. May the world see Your hand of protection and provision over Your people as was seen in the times of the Tanakh/Old Testament, amen.
