Covenant & Government Part 5

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say,
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 4:17 (NKJV)

Our focus this week for repentance of breaking covenant with the Lord in the area of government comes from Scriptures from the New Testament pertaining to the Kingdom of God.Please, keep in mind that the Hebrew word [H4951] translated as “government” means, “government, rule, dominion.”The first account of the Kingdom of Heaven mentioned in the New Testament comes from John the baptizer:

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” (Matt 3:1-2).
Yeshua/Jesus reinforces the need to repent due to the Kingdom of Heaven being at hand. The Hebrew word [G3340] translated as repent means, “to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins.” In order for us to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth as individuals and on the national level, we need to repent and change our way of thinking. Let us join together in repenting and changing the way we think and behave in order to align ourselves to the government, rule and dominion of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Prayers for Israel

For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you [Jerusalem] shall perish, and those nations shall be utterly ruined. Isaiah 60:12

Please pray for our Nation’s involvement and support for Israel.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that speaks of the Kingdom of Heaven in the law and the prophets. I bless Israel and the Jews to be blessed by Your Kingdom revealed in the pages of Scripture. May Israel’s government, rule and dominion reflect Your Kingdom here on earth. Please help us as a nation to understand Your Kingdom and how we as a nation are to interact with Israel from Heaven’s government, rule and dominion, amen.
