Families: Covenant Part 3

It is important that we keep covenant with the Lord in our families. The mercy of the Lord is on those who fear Him and He gives generational blessings to those who keep his covenant and follow His commandments. The family is the foundation and building block to our society and from there to our government. When the family is strong and keeps covenant with the Lord, then it flows from the families up to the government from there.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalm 103:17-18 (NKJV)

Let us join together in unity to pray for our families. Please repent in our individual lives, for our past family generations and on behalf of our Nation for not keeping covenant with the Lord and obeying His commandments in the family in the following area:

  • Not serving the Lord with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything
  • Please read Deuteronomy chapter 28. The verses at the beginning of the chapter speak of the blessings that come from obedience to the Lord. The verses beginning at 15 talk about the curses that come from disobedience. This verse in 47 talks about what happens when we do not serve the Lord our God with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything, which means, that if we serve the Lord with joy and gladness of heart for the abundance of everything, then the opposite of what is listed will become available. The curses will be turned to blessings.
  • Repent as individuals, as a family and on behalf of your generations for any way you have not obeyed the commandments of the Lord and breaking covenant with Him.
  • Repent on behalf of the families of our Nation who have not obeyed the commandments of the Lord and have broken covenant with the Lord.
  • Repent as an individual, as a family and on behalf of your generations who have not served the Lord with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything.
  • Forgive those in your family who have not served the Lord with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything.
  • Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have not served the Lord in our families with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything.
  • Please ask the Lord to remove any of the curses and consequences that have come from disobedience and from not serving Him with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything in your life, your family and the families of our Nation.
  • Please ask Him to restore the things that have been lost. I invite you to take time to make a list of that which was lost. You may choose to make a list lost relating to the families of our Nation.
  • Please take time to thank Him and ask Him to help you, your family and the families of our Nation to serve Him with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything.
  • Please read the entire chapter of Isaiah 55. This is a good example of the results of serving the Lord with joy and gladness for the abundance of everything.

“For you shall go out with joy,
    And be led out with peace;
    The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
    Isaiah 55:12 (NKJV)
