Families: Covenant Part 2

It is important that we keep covenant with the Lord in our families. The mercy of the Lord is on those who fear Him and He gives generational blessings to those who keep his covenant and follow His commandments. The family is the foundation and building block to our society and from there to our government. When the family is strong and keeps covenant with the Lord, then it flows up to the government from there.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalm 103:17-18 (NKJV)

Let us join together in unity to pray for our families. Please repent in our individual lives, for our past family generations and on behalf of our Nation for not keeping covenant with the Lord in the family in the following areas:

  1. Not loving our family as ourselves
    • “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:39 (NKJV)
    • Repent for any ways we have not loved our family as ourselves in our lives and in our generations; forgive those in your family who have not loved you as they have themselves. Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have not loved our families as we love ourselves.
  2. Not forgiving family members and holding bitterness, which is comprised of: unforgiveness, resentment, retaliation, anger, hatred, violence and murder
    • But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14 (NKJV)
    • Repent for any bitterness on your behalf and your generations
    • Forgive those who have held bitterness against you and your generations
    • Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have participated in bitterness of families.
  3. For jealousy/envy of family members
    • A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones. Proverbs 14:30 (NKJV)
    • Wrath is cruel and anger a torrent, But who is able to stand before jealousy? Proverbs 27:4 (NKJV)
    • Repent for any jealousy/envy on your behalf and generations
    • Forgive those who have been jealous/envious of you and your generations
    • Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have participated in jealousy/envy in families
  4. For rebellion, witchcraft, stubbornness, iniquity and idolatry
    • For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)
    • Repent for any rebellion, witchcraft, stubbornness iniquity and idolatry on your behalf and generations
    • Forgive those who have directed rebellion, witchcraft, stubbornness iniquity and idolatry toward you and your generations.
    • Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have participated in rebellion, witchcraft, stubbornness, iniquity and idolatry.
  5. For witchcraft and control
    • The purpose of witchcraft is to control. Control is witchcraft.
    • Repent for any control of others, as it is witchcraft, that you have participated in your life and on behalf of your generations. Repent on behalf of how we as a Nation have participated in controlling others in our families.
  6. For participation in the occult
    • For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)
    • …having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 2 Timothy 3:5 (NKJV)
    • Repent for any occult activity in your life and on behalf of your generations.
